CONCRETE HUMANS

CONCRETE HUMANS

Hello everyone, hope you all are fine. The festive season is back! It’s the time of the year when all of us are in a joyful mood. Each and every festival from Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day, Janmashtami to Ganesh Chaturthi and Durga Puja. This will continue till Diwali and Christmas. Festivals are indeed a peculiar feature of a secular country like India.
And guess what we are happy about, ‘HOLIDAYS’. It is the period of the year during which we get the most holidays. When a new year starts, the 1st thing to feature in a newspaper headline is the no. of holidays (will it increase or decrease). The nature of man is developed such that they can enjoy holidays. We are becoming ‘Concrete’ in our senses and thoughts.
“What do we normally do during our festivals? –10 hour sleep + 2 hour rest + eat + Repeat”.
The number of dahi handi mandals has decreased from 1,500 to 200. The attendance of employees in government offices for national holidays flag hoisting is worrisome. With all due respect, Shri Rabindranath Tagore did not start Raksha Bandhan for a leave nor did Shri Lokmanya Tilak start Ganesh Chaturthi for a two day holiday and a long weekend.

In this way, we forget the values forwarded by our ancestors and do not realize the mistake commited by us. If these practices are followed, India will soon become a WESTERN country.
Whatever may be the reason, it is our birth right to preserve our cultural heritage and feel proud about it. Actually, it teaches you a lot, if you don’t trust me, ask the most elderly person in your family. It is high time that we give importance to our festivals and enjoy it in a right manner.

“You are invited to the festival of this world and your life is blessed”
-          Rabindranath Tagore
