INFOCUS M2 - THE BIG REVIEW

INFOCUS M2

Well, we have been hearing the right news nowadays. Another company makes its foray into the Indian budget smartphone market. This time it is Infocus - a company more synonymous with LCD projectors. Everyone is keen to know what this company is offering in the already hot category. Infocus is releasing its 1st smartphone Infocus M2. Available at Rs 4,999, Infocus M2 offers decent specs and also has 8MP rear and front camera with flashes on both ends.
PROCESSOR
InFocus M2 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with integrated Mali-400 graphics. This processor has been used in a number of popular phones, most notably the first wave of Android One devices launched in India towards the end of last year. There's 1GB of RAM too. Overall, a fast smartphone in which you can play literally everything.
DISPLAY & DESIGN
Infocus M2 contains a 4.2-inch WXGA TFT LCD display with 768x1280 pixels resolution at 355PPI pixel density. The viewing angle of the screen is great and it also remains readable in direct sunlight. There are huge top and bottom bezels present on the front of the phone that give the display a different look. LED notification light is present at the front for missed calls, messages, and other similar updates which was pretty good.

CAMERA
Camera is the biggest selling point in this smartphone. InFocus M2 has two 8MP camera and flash on both sides. Though most of the budget smartphones feature similar rear camera, they pick a less powerful camera for the front and also mostly skip the flash on the front; and we're sure the selfie-loving consumers will definitively welcome this step by the manufacturer. Low light performance was noteworthy.
SOFTWARE
On the software front, the InFocus M2 runs Android 4.2.2 with the company's own Inlife UI skin. Like nearly every Chinese User Interface seen, there is no app drawer and all icons and widgets live together on the home screens.
MEMORY
The smartphone has 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built storage expandable up to 64GB via Micro SD card. It is surprisingly great as most of the budget smartphones support up to 32GB only. So, it beats other competitors on this front.

BATTERY
Infocus M2 has a 2010mAh non-removable battery. The phone’s battery life is quite decent. Depending upon the usage, the phone’s battery lasts for more than a day. The Infocus M2 scored 18944 in Antutu Benchmark v5.6.2. The score is almost at par with Xiaomi which achieved 20736 in the same test. It also achieved 7346 in Quadrant Standard test and in GeekBench 3 test.
PRICE
At Rs. 4,999/- the company couldn’t have given any better price. Infocus M2 is available through Snapdeal only via registrations.
Infocus M2 is the undisputed king of smartphones in the category under Rs. 5000. The aggressive pricing will attract many consumers from India. The specs offered are equal or even better than Moto E, Redmi or the Android One series. The dual 8 MP camera just adds to the amazing experience. This phone is getting sold out soon so better grab it quick!!
