Micromax entered into a new foray of custom built Cyanogen OS smartphones. Micromax has unveiled the new Yu Yureka. Micromax has invested in the Yu range and has even signed an exclusive contract with Cyanogen to be the only seller of Cyanogen smartphones in India. Let’s have a look at the smartphone and its specifications.

PROCESSOR
Micromax Yureka is powered on a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC (MSM8939 with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It is as good at it gets at this price segment.

DISPLAY
It bears a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi and also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection for better protection against scratches and should also be less reflective in bright light.

CAMERA
The rear includes a 13MP CMOS camera with a f2.2 aperture for better low-light photography. In addition, there’s 5MP front camera that has a 71 degree wide angle lens. Decent camera as in its rival smartphones.

ANDROID
This dual SIM smartphone features a custom built Cyanogen OS 11 which is first of its kind in India (legally). CyanogenMod is an open source operating system and is based on Android operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware that is distributed by most mobile device vendors.

MEMORY
Micromax Yu Yureka has 2GB RAM and an internal storage of 16 GB. It is expandable to 32GB with microSD.

BATTERY
The smartphone has a 2500 mAh Li Po battery which should be enough.

PRICE
Micromax YU Yureka is priced at a mind-blowing Rs.8,999/- . Surely this is going to give headaches to its rival companies.

There is only one verdict. Micromax has the idea to end 2014 on a high. The phone is  targeted at mid-range users keeping the Indian community in mind. However the battery life is of a little concern. Get your hands on it as soon as you can. It is an excellent phone for its price.

A Solution to solve Mumbai's Vaccination Problem - an open letter to CM of Maharashtra

Hope you are doing well..... The whole country is in deep COVID crisis. In Maharashtra too, the cases are rising. If we don't prevent this sooner, we will be in deep shortage of medical supplies and this can give rise to a big health emergency.  The only way in which we can prevent this is by Mass Vaccination of everyone in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Vaccination prevents infection of COVID and hospitalization in all age categories to a great extent. Countries like Israel and UK are a great example. As centre has not allowed Maharashtra to allow door to door vaccination, I have another idea of undertaking mass vaccination in Mumbai (can be expanded to all of Maharashtra too).
